Chakra/Kundalini Meditation

Kundalini is a Sanskrit word meaning either "coiled up" or "coiling like a snake." The caduceus symbol of coiling snakes is thought to be an ancient symbolic representation of Kundalini physiology. The concept of Kundalini comes from yogic philosophy of ancient India and refers to the mothering intelligence behind yogic awakening and spiritual maturation. It might be regarded by yogis as a sort of deity, hence the occasional capitalization of the term. 

As Kundalini rises it activates the third dimensional chakra system, chakras 1-7. The root chakra is the foundation all chakras sit upon, as well as being the seat of Kundalini energy. Chakras 1-7 anchors all higher chakras. If not activated and balanced higher chakra are unable to anchor properly if at all. This tends to make one think they are on a Spiritual Path while in truth following ego. 

According to yogic tradition, Kundalini is curled up in the back part of the root chakra in three and one-half turns around the sacrum. Awakening this energy, allowing it to flow freely up the spine activates the third dimensional chakra system. These chakras are not only the anchor points for higher chakras, they are energy meridians resting over the bodies endocrine system. This coiled and dormant “feminine” energy contains the vast potential of psychic energy contained within us all. The awakening of this serpent and the manifestation of its powers is the primary aim of this meditation. In short, it releases our Inner Divine Feminine powers, nurturing not only our chakras, but all our bodies systems.
